I'm fundraising for Wishlist
At the end of November, my best friend and I will be setting off on a challenging 650km trek across Jordan. Starting from Um Qais in the north and walking down to the Dead Sea in Aqaba, we’ll cover around 15-20km a day for 34 days, wild camping most nights. Neither of us has attempted anything like this before, but we're doing it with a purpose – to raise funds for Wishlist and the Sunshine Coast University Hospital.
This cause is deeply personal for me. Earlier this year, my mum had a stroke that changed her life. She's currently in rehabilitation, learning how to walk, eat, and manage daily activities again. The experience opened my eyes to the vital importance of having the right medical equipment available for stroke recovery.
We are aiming to raise $10,000 to help fund a Biplane machine for the Sunshine Coast University Hospital. This machine can mean the difference between a full recovery and a lifelong disability for stroke patients. With a Biplane machine available locally, stroke victims on the Sunshine Coast can receive the treatment they need without having to travel far, which could significantly improve their chances of recovery.
We’ll begin our trek on November 28th, and we hope you'll support us in reaching our fundraising goal to make a difference for stroke patients and their families.
