Almost 500 runners and walkers turned out on Sunday, October 17 for the third Wishlist Fun Run at Lake Kawana.
The event sponsored by Q Super and Stockland saw a record number of participants as more than $35,000 was raised for Wishlist’s latest project Wishlist Centre.
Plenty of Sunshine Coast businesses and schools got active for a great cause including Market Bistro, Siena College, Youi Insurance, Travis Schultz & Partners, LPE, Malt Shovel Taphouse, Direct Collective, Kruger Law, Campbell Construction Co, Sunshine Coast Grammar School, Sunshine Coast Orthopaedic Group, Wealthpro and many more.
Market Bistro Restaurant Manager Luke Stringer and his ‘Hot Mess Express’ team had been hurling themselves up and down Mount Coolum at the crack of dawn prior to the Wishlist Fun Run.
“We’re all really pumped for this new challenge and most importantly to raise money for our Local Hospital Foundation,” Mr Stringer said before the run.
While Michelle and her team at Malt Shovel Taphouse are raised $815 ahead of the event.
Wishlist Events and Fundraising Manager Lisa Wilson said the event was a huge success.
“The fundraising this year was to another level,” Ms Wilson said.
“Thank you to all of our sponsors, corporate teams, individual runners and families who made this day a success which will help so many patients and families in decades to come.
“We can’t wait for Wishlist Fun Run 2022.”
A big thank you to our sponsors, including the Sunshine Coast Council minor grants program.
