Time is running out to secure the last tenancy in an Australian-first health centre currently being built opposite the Sunshine Coast University Hospital.
One of the Coast’s leading charities Wishlist is looking for a business or organisation with a health or wellbeing focus to take advantage of the last 208m2 ground floor tenancy in Wishlist Centre – Australia’s first facility to offer affordable patient accommodation, primary healthcare and complementary therapies under one roof.
Wishlist CEO Lisa Rowe said Wishlist Centre provided a unique opportunity for business, community and government to work together on innovative offerings for hospital patients and staff of the Coast’s major tertiary hospital.
“Wishlist Centre will deliver affordable accommodation and crucial support services for patients while they receive ongoing treatment or are transitioning to and from hospital,” Ms Rowe said.
“Molly Lynne Medical will deliver a GP service on the ground floor of Wishlist Centre, Bloomhill Cancer Care will provide integrated oncology support services, and our Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service clinicians will make use of Wishlist Centre’s wellness and consultation rooms on the podium level of Wishlist Centre to provide innovative youth mental health and parental resilience programs.
“There will also be research opportunities on our collaborative service offerings.”
Ms Rowe said having both public and private services collaborating would enhance healthcare services for the Sunshine Coast community, as well as rural and remote patients and families who have to travel for medical treatment.
“A synergistic relationship between healthcare commercial tenants has certainly been a priority when reviewing expressions of interest for the facility and central to negotiations with each tenant,” she added.
LJ Hooker Commercial agent Craig Jackson, who provides his services to Wishlist pro-bono, said the Centre presented a significant opportunity for a Sunshine Coast business to take advantage of the location opposite the region’s major tertiary hospital.
“Tenants of the new Wishlist Centre will be able to take advantage of its outstanding position opposite the 600-bed Sunshine Coast University Hospital, as well as being so close to the Sunshine Coast University Private Hospital,” Mr Jackson said.
“This ground-floor tenancy, which is a substantial 208m2 with two-street frontage, will also enjoy exposure to the expanding residential community of Birtinya, excellent connectivity to public transport, a multi-level carpark next door and the location of the Stockland Birtinya Town Centre nearby.”
Wishlist Centre is set to open at 1 Bright Place, Birtinya in November 2022.
