The Gympie Patient Transport Service provides free transportation for Gympie residents travelling from Gympie Hospital to clinical appointments at Nambour Hospital, Sunshine Coast University Hospital, Sunshine Coast University Private Hospital and Birtinya health hub. This essential service operates two services daily - Monday to Friday - excluding public holidays.

Funded by Wishlist, this service aims to reduce the stress and burden of long-distance travel for medical care. The service follows a fixed timetable with designated pick-up and drop-off points, ensuring timely and reliable transport for patients.

How To Book

If you have a medical appointment at Nambour Hospital, Sunshine Coast University Hospital or Sunshine Coast University Private Hospital or Birtinya health hub, you can travel (free of charge) on the Wishlist Gympie Patient Transport Service.

Just arrive at the pickup point on time and show the driver your appointment letter or text.

You can also book a ride by contacting your clinical treatment team.

Health staff members who need to arrange transport for a patient should fill out the PTSU booking form on QHEPS.

Gympie Nelson Reserve via River Rd departure times departure times:
6.20am & 11.35am.

Nambour Hospital main entrance departure times:
7.20am, 9.50am, 12.40pm, 4.55pm.

Sunshine Coast University Hospital (south entrance) departure times:
9am & 3.50pm.
