In Memory of Khan Thoroughgood
Khan Thoroughgood’s legacy shines brightly through his love of racing and the courage he showed throughout his battle with cancer. A 16-year-old rising sports star, Khan was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a rare and aggressive bone cancer, just one week before his 15th birthday. He fought with unwavering bravery for nearly two years, inspiring everyone around him, before losing his courageous fight just shy of turning 17.
Gympie Speedway shared this heartfelt message:
“It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Khan Thoroughgood, one of our dedicated Junior Sedan drivers who has left an indelible mark on our community.”
To honour Khan’s passion and celebrate his life, Mothar Mountain Speedway is hosting a special memorial event. This tribute will bring together family, friends, and the community to remember a young man who lived life to the fullest and cherished his time at the track.
We invite you to join us in commemorating Khan by supporting this fundraiser in his name. Your donations will provide free accommodation at Wishlist Centre for those battling cancer and their families, offering comfort and relief during challenging times. Your generosity truly makes a difference, ensuring these families have a place to rest, recharge, and feel supported.
Together, let’s keep Khan’s spirit alive and make a lasting impact for others who need it most.
