An amazing $20,694 was raised in just two weeks for Wishlist to direct to the Children’s Ward at Nambour Hospital thanks to Woolworths first local ‘Hospital Wall Token’ promotion.
Wishlist was honoured to be the beneficiary of Woolworth’s new initiative which saw 20 local stores participate in selling wall tokens with 100 percent of sales going to help paediatric patients on the Sunshine Coast.
Wishlist CEO Lisa Rowe said she was thrilled with the result of the two week appeal which will translate into another six months of diversional therapy for the Children’s Ward.
“The wall token campaign was a great opportunity for the community to directly support sick children right here on the Sunshine Coast, and the result speaks for the generosity of this community,” Lisa said.
“Even by purchasing one token you did your part to help young patients, and we are so excited to put the money towards continuing the diversional therapy programs which include having qualified yoga, music, pet and play therapists attend the Children’s Ward.
“The feedback we have been receiving for this program has been incredibly positive and it is proving to be extremely worthwhile in helping heal broken minds, bodies and spirits.”
Michael Muller, Woolworths Children's Hospital Fundraising Coordinator, said each of the stores who participated in the wall token promotion really enjoyed being a part of something that created tangible results for real people.
“We thank everyone who helped support this promotion, and since our stores enjoyed it so much I think it’s safe to say it will become an annual event,” Michael said.
