As Wishlist makes the move to the new Sunshine Coast University Hospital it is in need of volunteers to help them with its initiatives.
Wishlist CEO Lisa Rowe said volunteers were vital in assisting Wishlist with its fundraising programs.
“Volunteers are the backbone of Wishlist, supporting everything we achieve for the
community,” she said.
Volunteer Sally Doyle said she fell into volunteering by accident but said she looked
forward to contributing more in the future.
“I used to do the Wishlist Row for Cancer because I enjoy paddling,” she said.
“Then I became a volunteer at the hospital and they just happened to need volunteers to cover books.”
Ms Doyle said she had volunteered with other organisations before but said her experience with Wishlist had been second to none.
“A lot of people my age with time on their hands need something else to
do,” she said.
“It’s nothing but positive and you get a good feeling from being a part of it. I love the way they’re involved with all different people.”
Upcoming events organised by Wishlist include the Sunshine Coast University Hospital
Grand Celebration on March 4, Mix FM’s Give Me 5 For Kids campaign, Wishlist Jazz and Wine Festival in Gympie, and more.
