He has one of the biggest hearts on the Sunshine Coast,
and now Mick Allwood has donated the use of his waterfront apartment for
families needing to be close to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital.
Capricorn Roofing Director Mick Allwood has been a major
supporter of 92.7 Mix FM’s Give Me 5 For Kids and Wishlist’s The House The
Coast Built, and now the Mooloolaba-based businessman is pushing his
contribution even further.
Mr Allwood and Direct Hotels have collaborated with
Wishlist to offer a two-bedroom apartment for the exclusive use of eligible parents
and carers needing to be close to a loved one undergoing treatment in hospital.
“It was just a little something I could offer families
who are doing it tough,” Mr Allwood said.
“Direct Hotels North Shore Kawana have also contributed
by way of cleaning the apartment following the stay of each guest.
“I have been blessed with two healthy kids, but I know
not everyone is that lucky.
“And I’ve been reminded that one day I’ll have
grandchildren that may need some of the amazing services, equipment or nearby
emergency accommodation Wishlist and the Give Me 5 For Kids appeal funds.”
