Virtual party reaches 18400 people

05 May 2020

There’s no party like a Wishlist party – even when the leading Coast charity has to ‘go online’ to officially open The House The Coast Built, made possible by Ausmar Homes.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the
hospital foundation hosted a virtual party on Friday afternoon which reached
more than 18,400 people across their social media channels.

Wishlist CEO Lisa Rowe said the house
warming party was hosted by 92.7 Mix FM’s Mark and Caroline and included local
musicians, video messages from league legend Darren Lockyer, Taxiride frontman
Jason Singh and local healthcare workers, as well as a virtual tour of the six-bedroom
house in Birtinya.

“Unfortunately
we couldn’t throw a street party for this phenomenal 14-month project which
more than 120 businesses contributed to, but we put our thinking caps on and embraced
technology instead,” Ms Rowe said.

“With our partners 92.7 Mix FM and
Ausmar Homes, this was our way of thanking all the local businesses, suppliers
and donors who made this project a reality.

“While it was extremely
nerve-wracking being a ‘first’ for us and relying completely on technology and
our small team, hosting a virtual party really was worth it.”

The live broadcast was streamed on
Wishlist’s facebook page and website and reached more than 18,400 people and 4,400
views.
