Virtual garden to commemorate 25 years of lifesaving support

Wishlist has launched a virtual garden to mark a significant milestone in its history.

The virtual Wishlist Daisy Garden symbolises 25 years of compassionate support for patients and families on the Sunshine Coast and in Gympie.

Since 1998, Wishlist has directed more than $20 million towards the local health system for the provision of lifesaving medical equipment, research, education and services to support patients, including hospital accommodation.

Wishlist Fundraising and Partnerships Manager Lisa Wilson is inviting 2500 kind-hearted individuals to contribute $25 each to help secure the next 25 years of essential support for the growing health needs of the community.

“For just $25 you can create a digital tribute in your name or in honour of a loved one by planting a daisy and changing a life,” Mrs Wilson says.

“The virtual Wishlist Daisy Garden is interactive – you can plant a daisy and have your friends and family water or give it some love to help it grow.

“This immersive digital experience allows supporters, well-wishers and community members to come together virtually to celebrate a legacy of compassion while also sowing the seeds for a healthier tomorrow.”

The appeal aims to raise over $62,000 to fund priority needs on the charity’s ‘Wish List’ including power wheelchairs for patients rehabilitating at the Sunshine Coast University Hospital, music therapy for palliative care patients, and support services like pet therapy and the Clown Doctors.
