Tickets to one of the best festivals in Gympie are now on sale.

The third annual Wishlist Jazz and Wine Festival will take place on the lawns of picturesque Gunabul Homestead on Saturday, August 4 featuring live entertainment, gourmet food and wine.

Wishlist Events and Fundraising Manager Lisa Wilson said tickets were selling faster than expected with Verandah VIP tickets almost sold out.

“Each year this event continues to grow and is so well-supported by the Gympie and Cooloola region,” Ms Wilson said.

“We also have a strong Sunshine Coast contingent who travel to Gympie to make the day, so this year we will be putting on a bus transfer to and a from the event for our Coast locals.”



In the past two years, the event has raised more than $62,500 with all funds used to purchase medical equipment for Gympie Hospital.

In 2016, proceeds from the event purchased a BiPAP Non-Invasive Ventilator for the Department of Emergency and last year a $33,723 neuro-perfusion package was funded to enable acute stroke patients to access new treatment options in Gympie.

The event is expected to attract more than 200 people and boasts a gourmet barbecue, delicious cheese platters and a wide selection of wine, beer and other beverages for general admission entrants.

“Once again, the VIP area is proving to be ‘the place to be’ as we only have about 20 tickets (at time of print) left to sell,” Ms Wilson said.

“The VIP area offers the full festival experience on the verandah of Gunabul Homestead with an all-inclusive catering package including wine, beer and soft drinks.”

Ms Wilson said the entertainment line-up will be announced soon which is expected to feature celebrated jazz artists.

“We know wine and gourmet food is a pair like no other, but add in a mix of live jazz acts and your afternoon is sorted,” Ms Wilson said.

“This year we will be raising funds for a Family Accommodation facility close to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital so rural and remote patients who need to travel the region’s tertiary hospital can stay close during treatment.

“It’s just one way we can keep families or patients and their carers together during a critical time.”

Wishlist also plans to fund an innovative Telehealth service for Gympie Hospital.
