With the help of the Sunshine Coast community Wishlist have been able to fund telehealth rehab equipment that will help the recovery of respiratory patients across the Sunshine Coast, Gympie and beyond.
The equipment includes 6 iPads, 10 sets of seated arm and leg pedal exercisers and a lapel microphone, totalling $3750, that will make the telehealth pulmonary rehab service more accessible for patients.
The telehealth service is an exercise and educational program for people with moderate to severe lung disease that allows patients from rural areas to get the care and support they need from the comfort of their own home.
For patients like Don, who has been living with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), this equipment will make a huge difference.
“The service helped me improve no end, they put me through a few lung and body exercises that help me breathe” Don says.
