That’s the challenge for the fearless Sunshine Coast Shufflers who will test their calf muscles on Wild Horse Mountain, Mt Ngungun, Mt Coolum, Mt Cooroora and Laguna Lookout at Noosa this Saturday.
Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service cardiologist Professor Kim Greaves is the brains behind the inaugural Hi 5 Mountain Challenge, which has already raised more than $3000 for Wishlist.
“Cardiovascular disease is the nation’s biggest killer so I wanted to do something to promote healthier happier lifestyles on the Sunshine Coast,” Prof Greaves said.
“For the past couple of months, myself, cardiologist Tony Stanton, Wishlist’s Lisa Rowe and Lisa Wilson, and mates Shaun McTaggart, Phil Pilgrim and Angela Richardson have been training for this day.
“Shuffling up our local mountains seemed like a great idea to promote healthier lifestyles and raise funds to help tackle health workplace issues.
Wishlist CEO Lisa Rowe said funds from the gruelling challenge would go towards an innovative health and wellbeing project within the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service.
“Wishlist is not only about enhancing services within our local public hospitals, but also promoting healthy living so we can prevent people ending up in the wards of Nambour, Gympie, Maleny or Caloundra.
“A personal challenge is always good for the body and soul and, at the end of the day, I’d do anything for the Wishlist cause.”
Fellow challenger Phil Pilgrim, who is a Sunshine Coast dad-of-three, said he signed up to push his fitness further.

“I started running trails around the Sunny Coast with Kim and we decided we needed a goal,” Mr Pilgrim said.
“Ironically over a few beers, we decided to set ourselves this challenge and at the same time raise money for a very worthy cause.”
The Shufflers will begin their challenge at Wild Horse Mountain at 6am on Saturday, October 21.
