Director and CEO of RCQ, Steve Cole has confidently thrown out a challenge to staff at RCQ and Reed Property Group to take their exceptional construction abilities one step further…and lace up their runners for Ted and children on the Coast.
“At RCQ, not only are we ‘building for life’, but as a team we are committed to helping Wishlist build numbers and fundraising dollars in the upcoming Run Sunshine Coast,” said Mr Cole.
RCQ is amongst other local businesses to sponsor their staff to take part in the twelve or six kilometre event on Sunday 17th May at Kawana.
Mr Cole is calling on other businesses to follow suit and get behind the event.
“Appealing to RCQ is that 100% of every registration fee goes straight to Wishlist to grow our local Child Development Service at Wises Road.” Mr Cole said.
Based on the expected growth of the region over the coming years the Sunshine Coast is forecast to grow faster than Queensland overall. As a result, it is expected that services provided by the Community Based Child Development Centre will be in even greater demand.
Since December last year, due to the money already raised through Run Sunshine Coast and Mix FMs Give Me 5 for Kids, the Service is now working with 6-8 year olds with some 8-13 year also receiving assessment and referrals.
Wishlist CEO, Lisa Rowe is proud to say that the Child Development Service is growing in more ways than initially planned but will only be sustainable with continued fundraising efforts.
Our goal through Run Sunshine Coast in May and Mix FM’s Give Me 5 for Kids in June is to further support the Child Development Service on the Sunshine Coast in order to shorten waiting lists as well as increase the age group of children who can access the services.
Funds from Run Sunshine Coast 2015 will go towards supporting the service in its new location through the leasing of space, and sustaining the increase to staffing levels.
