Wishlist were inspired by the Sunshine Coast community coming together to raise over $340,000 through Wishlist Giving Day, surpassing the charity’s ambitious goal, to support patients and their families just like Maddi!
The five-year old's life took an unexpected turn in March last year when a sudden illness, first believed to be a simple virus, became a life-threatening battle and traumatic journey for parents Ben and Kylie.
“Without the health teams at SCUH and Brisbane, we wouldn’t have our Maddi with us today. We’re so grateful, and we want to give back to help other families,” Kylie says.

Held on Thursday, March 27 2025, the sixth Wishlist Giving Day was a fundraising festival, filled with health staff fundraisers, market stalls, clothing sale, planking competition, Kenilworth Donuts by BOQ, Wishlist Therapy Dogs and Horse, Clown Doctor vs Sunshine Coast Lightning shootout, and 92.7 MIX FM and 96.1 Zinc FM broadcasting live all day from our local hospitals.
Wishlist CEO Brendan Hogan said, “Wishlist is just the bridge between community generosity and healthcare excellence in our region, and the whole community should feel incredibly proud.
We are overwhelmed by the support for our health staff, and patients and families who will be the direct beneficiaries of what this generous community have donated throughout the course of Giving Day.
This $340,000 will go a long way in enhancing our local health services and help the people the need it most.”
Funds raised will go towards:
- Biplane Unit at the Sunshine Coast University Hospital – the Sunshine Coast region’s first clot retrieval service which will help stroke and brain aneurysm patients.
- Sentimag and Faxitron machines at Nambour General Hospital – two essential pieces of breast surgical equipment that will offer local cancer patients less invasive, more effective treatments close to home.
- Butterfly Suit at Gympie Hospital’s Maternity Unit – a compassionate space for women facing the heartbreak of miscarriage, stillbirth, or neonatal loss,

We couldn’t have done it without our army of volunteers, business matchers and the generous Sunshine Coast Community.
This year’s top fundraising teams included Town, Sunshine Toyota, Mason Finance Group and 92.7 MIX FM.
On behalf of the patients to benefit from your donation we thank you for caring about the families in need of their local hospital.
