After a month of rainy days, some
much-needed sunshine has allowed construction of The House The Coast Built to get
back on track.
The team at QLD Construction &
Carpentry dropped everything last week to take advantage of the clear skies, installing
the steel frame for the two-story house in Birtinya with help from the crew at
Chris Aitkin Crane Hire.
Both businesses jumped on board to
help Wishlist and Ausmar Homes to build an affordable accommodation close to
the Sunshine Coast University Hospital by providing their materials and labour,
free of charge.
Ausmar Homes Construction Manager
Sean Fraser said the 6-bedroom house should have a roof by the end of the week
if all goes to plan—another major milestone for the community project.
So far, almost 50 local businesses have
donated their services to the project which is due for completion in September.
While construction of the house is
moving full-steam-ahead, Wishlist are working to fill the house with everything
a family might need during their stay at the hospital accommodation facility.
