Go Transit is continuing their support of Wishlist by having 35 of their employees donate a percentage of their wage through Workplace Giving. They are also generously matching the employee contribution $1 for $1. This helps Wishlist continue fundraising for the needs of the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service.
Workplace Giving see employees donate part of their regular income to a deductible gift recipient charity. Through this, companies in return build stronger charity partnerships and enhance corporate reputation while supporting the needs of their chosen charity.
Wishlist CEO Lisa Rowe said Workplace Giving is a great initiative that benefits the employee, the employer and the community in a range of ways.
“Workplace Giving allows the employee to feel a part of something that contributes to and helps the local hospital and health community,” Ms Rowe said.
“Through regular contributions employees receive the tax benefit while contributing to those extras that make a big difference to families needing help at a local hospital. Let's face it; it could be any of our families that reap the rewards of their generosity.”
Last Monday, Go Transit were able to go on a tour through Nambour Hospital to see equipment and services that were funded by Wishlist and how their donations will contribute.
Go Transit Financial Controller Andrea Coles said they are amazed to see the level of funding that Wishlist gives back to the community.
“They make such a huge difference to the small things that allow the patients time at the hospital to be more comfortable and allow services to stay here on the Coast, which is such a huge help to most families,” Ms Coles said.
“Workplace Giving will allow us to donate an amount of money that we otherwise wouldn’t have been able to afford as individuals. There is a great sense of pride knowing that we are doing some good for those who need it most.”
Ms Coles said it doesn’t matter how big or small the donation is, it all makes a difference.
