One of the Coast’s leading construction companies, Ausmar, is set to make a difference to the health of our community through their new three year partnership with Wishlist.
Business Unit Manager for Ausmar Josh Green is extremely proud of the new partnership and looking forward to providing a number of benefits to both Wishlist, staff of the hospital and health service and in particular, the broader Sunshine Coast community.
“Part of our business ethos is about making a difference in the community and by aligning ourselves with Wishlist, we know that we can continue to make a real difference to health services on the Sunshine Coast,” said Mr Green.
Amongst many things over the three years, Ausmar’s sponsorship of Wishlist will enable the charity to purchase a number of items on our current scope including a $64,000 Nerve Monitor for the Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) service. This vital equipment will greatly improve the safety of operating around critical nerves. Currently, Nambour Hospital has to hire this expensive machine each time a patients requires surgery, otherwise the patient has to commute to Brisbane.
Thankfully, with the support of Ausmar and our end of financial year appeal which will kick off in May, Wishlist is set to purchase this equipment for the ENT service in order to provide better patient care across the Coast.
“As a local builder, it was important for us to support a home grown charity that raises funds for the needs of the community,” said Mr Green.
After Wishlist House went under the hammer in 2012 raising over $300,000 for eye surgery, Ausmar have continued their support of Wishlist through a number of events and campaigns.
Wishlist CEO Lisa Rowe said the formalisation of partnerships such as this offers financial benefits to Wishlist to assist with its $1million annual spend.
“It would be impossible for us to deliver on our core business without the strong support of our corporate partners such as Ausmar,” said Ms Rowe.
Wishlist is grateful to have their support for the coming years and hoping that a surprise announcement relating to Ausmar may be on the cards soon.
As the team at Ausmar prepare for Run Sunshine Coast, Mr Green is calling on other local construction companies to get behind the fundraising event on Sunday 17 May.
“We challenge all building companies on the Sunshine Coast to meet us at the start line for some friendly competition in support of growing the Child Development Service on Wises Road.”
