As Wishlist looks to expand on the resources already provided to the Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) service at Nambour Hospital, Bank of Queensland Mooloolaba (BOQ) - the local bank responsible for providing $70,000 worth of ENT equipment in 2010/11, has signed on as a corporate partner of the Coast’s local hospital foundation.
BOQ Mooloolaba franchise owners Brenden and Carlie Brial have supported Wishlist both personally and professionally for more than ten years, most notably through their partnership with My Weekly Preview in the organisation of the Exclusive 300 Club Melbourne Cup Day function at Corbould Park.
In six years the event raised more than $170,000 for Wishlist and its range of local health-related causes, including the provision of vital ENT equipment. In a remarkable twist of fate, the Brial family was in need of the very equipment they’d just funded around the Christmas of 2010. As the equipment had not yet arrived, the family was forced to travel to Brisbane’s RBWH with their distressed young son to retrieve a swallowed coin.
BOQ Mooloolaba was one of four banks who responded to an Expression of Interest document issued by Wishlist which gave local business the opportunity to submit proposals on a paid sponsorship arrangement with Wishlist.
BOQ Mooloolaba Owner Manager Brenden Brial said he is pleased to be the new banking partner of Wishlist.
“Part of our business ethos is about making a difference in the community and by aligning ourselves with Wishlist we know that we can continue to make a real difference to health services on the Sunshine Coast.” Mr Brial said.
Wishlist CEO Lisa Rowe said the formalisation of partnerships such as this not only offers financial benefits to Wishlist to assist with its $1million annual spend but also offers benefits to time-poor health employees across all campuses of the local health service.
“BOQ Mooloolaba offer an onsite banking service to employees of our local hospitals and competitive rates on home and personal loans. Wishlist receives a commission on successful home loans taken up by employees of the Health Service and that employee is then able to determine the hospital to benefit from the commission.”
“We’re thrilled to announce BOQ Mooloolaba as a corporate sponsor of Wishlist and we look forward to all that the partnership will bring to our charity, 5000 local Health Service employees and of course the greater community through the provision of equipment such as the $64,000 NIM Nerve Monitor for ENT surgery recently included on our wish list”.
BOQ Mooloolaba is continuing their support with Wishlist by sponsoring their staff to participate in the 2015 Run Sunshine Coast and are calling on all local business communities to do the same.
