AN ENDLESS LOVE FOR PAST HOUSE THE COAST BUILT BUYER

05 Feb 2016

Jenny Goodwin has just celebrated four years in her new home – but not just any home!

Mrs Goodwin and her husband Bob were the winning bidders on Auction Day in January 2012 when the last Wishlist House went under the hammer.

“I’m thrilled to see The House The Coast Built initiative continue and I think anyone who is interested in the house needs to look at all the extras that come with it, do their homework, talk to the real estate agency to get bidding tips and firmly remember that all proceeds are going to sick and needy kids here on the Coast.” Mrs Goodwin said.

Mrs Goodwin, who is also a Nursing Director for the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service, said she fell in love with the 2011/12 project long before the house was even finalised.

“As soon as Wishlist and Ausmar Homes announced that the home would be built at Brightwater my husband and I fell in love with the location, so I hassled the Wishlist office constantly for updates,” she laughed.

“When the floor plan was released we knew it was the house we wanted and we visited the house site at every opportunity.”

Mrs Goodwin lists the kitchen, the pool off the deck and the fabulous location as some of her favourite features of the Brightwater home.

“We also got so many added extras with the purchase of the house, like assistance with furniture removal and home security, that don’t come standard when you build or buy a house,” she said.

“We were fairly nervous on the auction day because by that stage we really, really wanted the house and knowing that the money was going to a great cause definitely cemented our decision to bid on the house.”

“I guess in summary, yes we love our Wishlist House and we are never moving!”

Dan Sowden from Ray White Maroochydore will again lead the auction this year.

“It was such a thrill to be involved with Wishlist House in 2012 and I’m blown away by the momentum that’s building around The House The Coast Built this year,” Mr Sowden said.

“We’ve already got some serious registered bidders who are chomping at the bit to get that auction paddle in their hands on Valentine’s Day, so it’s shaping up to be a major event for the Sunshine Coast” he said.

All the furniture, home wares and art work inside the home is also available for individual bidding online at www.galabid.com/thtcb.

Wishlist and Ausmar Homes led more than 60 local contractors and suppliers who donated their time and resources for free to build The House The Coast Built. All proceeds from the sale of the house and its furnishings will be directed by Wishlist to paediatric needs on the Coast.
